The parts Text to Chip can use
For each part: what to buy, how to wire it, a test program to load right away and the fixes for the most common problems. It is the same data the IDE uses, and the test programs are checked by the compiler at every release.
Things the program moves or turns on
- LEDs: red, yellow and green lightsThree coloured lights the program turns on and off: the first part of almost every project, from a traffic light to indicator lamps.
- Piezo buzzerA small speaker that beeps, plays sounds and melodies: for alerts, alarms and games.
- SG90 servo motorA small motor that moves its arm to a precise angle, from 0 to 180 degrees: barriers, grippers, robot arms.
- RelayA switch the program controls, to turn on and off things with their own power supply: a pump, a lamp, a fan.
- Motors and L298N driverTwo motors with wheels and the driver that controls them: forward, back, turns and speed, for a robot car.
Sensors the program reads
- Push buttonA button the program reads, pressed or not: to start, switch mode or react to a touch.
- PIR motion sensor (HC-SR501)Senses the warmth of a person moving, up to a few metres away: alarms and lights that turn on as you pass.
- Infrared obstacle sensorTells whether something is right in front of it, a few centimetres away: for robots that avoid walls.
- Line sensors (TCRT5000)Three sensors that look at the floor and tell black from white: for line-following robots.
- Analog sensor: potentiometer or lightA value that changes smoothly, from 0 to 4095: a knob, or the light in a room.
- Ultrasonic distance sensor (HC-SR04)Measures in centimetres how far away the thing in front is, like a bat: parking sensors, robots, measuring.
