Free online Arduino and ESP32 simulator

Describe what you want to build. Text to Chip picks the parts from its catalogue, draws them on the breadboard, writes a short readable program and runs it in the simulator, in your browser. When it works, the same program goes onto the real board and runs on its own.

How it works

  1. Write what it should do, for example "when the soil is dry, switch the pump on".
  2. The assistant picks the parts and writes the program; the compiler and the simulator check it before you see it.
  3. On the breadboard you see the parts and the wires; press the buttons, move the sensors' sliders and watch the lights, sounds and motors react.
  4. Connect the board with a USB cable from the browser (Chrome or Edge) and save the program on it: from then on it runs without a computer.

What you can simulate

62 parts from the catalogue: lights, buttons, temperature, humidity, motion, distance and soil sensors, relays, pumps, servos, motors, displays and more.

Which boards

ESP32-S3, Arduino UNO R4 WiFi and Nordic nRF54LM20 DK. The simulator runs the same virtual machine as the board's firmware, so the program behaves the same in the browser and on the board.

What it does not do

  • It does not run Arduino C++ sketches: the program is in Chip BASIC, a short language the assistant writes for you and you can read line by line. To simulate an existing C++ sketch, Wokwi or Tinkercad Circuits fit better.
  • It does not simulate analog circuits component by component (no SPICE): it simulates what the program does with the catalogue's parts.
  • It does not check the wires you build on the bench: for those, the IDE guides you wire by wire when you connect the board.

Questions

Is it free?
Yes. The simulator has no limit; without an account the assistant answers 10 requests a day.
Do I need to install anything?
No, it runs in the browser. To load the program onto the board you need Chrome or Edge, which can talk to the USB port.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Describe the project in plain words, in English or Italian; the assistant writes the program, and you change it by asking in words.
